Voya Energy, Inc. ("Voya," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit voya.energy (the "Site"), submit an inquiry through the Site, or otherwise communicate with us through the Site.
Scope
This policy applies to the Site and the online interactions described here. It does not apply to information collected in an employment or applicant context or to third-party websites or services that may be linked from the Site.
Information We Collect
Information you provide. If you use our contact form or communicate with us, we may collect your first and last name, business email address, company, area of interest, project country, message, and any other information you choose to provide. Please do not include sensitive personal information in the message field.
Email preferences. If you select the optional marketing box on our contact form, we record that preference and may use your contact information to send occasional information about Voya's technology, products, company news, and other topics that may be of interest. You may unsubscribe at any time by using the link in an email or contacting us.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and the service providers that operate and secure it may automatically collect limited technical and usage information. This may include IP address; browser and device type; operating system; screen resolution; pages viewed; links or buttons selected; date and time of access; referring website or traffic source; approximate geographic location derived from IP address; cookie or similar identifiers; and diagnostic information such as page-loading or error events.
How We Use Information
We use personal information to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site; understand how visitors find and use the Site; identify and diagnose technical problems; prevent spam, fraud, and abuse; respond to inquiries and communicate with you; maintain records of communications and consent preferences; send marketing communications when you have opted in; comply with law; protect the rights, safety, and property of Voya and others; and support a corporate transaction such as a financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We may also create aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you and use that information for lawful business purposes.
Cookies Analytics and Security
Cookie choices. The Site uses essential technologies needed to operate and secure the Site and remember your consent choice. We also use optional analytics cookies to measure Site traffic and usage and help us identify errors. Where our cookie banner is presented, we will not activate optional analytics cookies unless you select "Accept." If you select "Decline," we will not activate them. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie Preferences" link in the Site footer. You can also configure your browser to block new cookies or delete cookies already stored on your device.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand information such as the number of visitors, pages viewed, time spent on the Site, traffic source, device and browser characteristics, and approximate geographic location. Google Analytics uses IP addresses to provide its service and derive coarse location information. Voya does not receive raw IP addresses through Google Analytics. Google states that it discards raw IP addresses after use and, for visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, does not log or store individual IP addresses.
You can learn more about how Google handles information in Google Analytics at Google's Privacy and Data Practices and can use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google reCAPTCHA. The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to help distinguish legitimate submissions from automated activity and protect the Site against spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA may process technical and interaction information for this purpose and may set a necessary cookie when it is used. This security service is not controlled by the optional Analytics setting.
Advertising and sale or sharing. We do not use the Site to serve targeted advertisements. We do not sell personal information or share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How We Disclose Information
We may disclose personal information to service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, security and abuse prevention, analytics, technical support, contact-form delivery, email, and customer relationship management. These providers may process personal information only as permitted by their agreements with us and applicable law.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers; when required by law, legal process, or a lawful government request; when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or property or investigate misuse of the Site; in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business; or with your consent or at your direction.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to respond to inquiries, maintain business records, honor communication preferences, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect our rights. Retention periods vary depending on the nature of the information and why it was collected. Analytics information is retained according to our Google Analytics settings. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information for longer periods.
Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Cookie choices. You may accept or decline optional analytics cookies through the banner and change your choice at any time through the "Cookie Preferences" link in the Site footer. Changing this setting will apply to future analytics collection on that browser or device; it does not delete information collected before the change. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser, although doing so may affect certain Site functions.
Marketing choices. Marketing consent is optional. If you opt in, you may withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us. We may retain a limited suppression record so that we can honor your request.
Privacy requests. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information; to receive a portable copy of certain information; to object to or restrict certain processing; or to withdraw consent. To make a request, email privacy@voya.energy. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and will respond as required by applicable law. You may also have the right to appeal our response or complain to your local privacy or data protection authority.
Do Not Track. Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. Because there is no uniform standard for interpreting these signals, the Site may not respond to them. You can use our cookie controls to manage optional analytics cookies. Other than the analytics activity described above, we do not knowingly permit third parties to collect personal information about your activities over time and across different websites while you use the Site.
International Visitors
Voya is based in the United States, and personal information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
For individuals in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing may include our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, and understanding use of the Site and responding to business inquiries; your consent for optional analytics cookies and marketing communications; compliance with legal obligations; and steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Site is intended for a business audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on the Site and update the "Last updated" date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice as appropriate.
